I’m sure many of you can relate to the fact that life has definitely been life-ing. With that being said, I wanted to share that after a very long and expensive journey I finally have a special needs trust in place as well as our Wills and every Power of Attorney you can think of. What a ride, but I must say, the more we dove into it, the more Dale understood the importance of putting things in place.
He was amazing, asked all the right questions and even some unexpected ones. The attorneys we worked with were amazing and you could tell they have experience in redirecting their clients. I loved how patient everyone was and allowed Dale the time and space to wrap his mind around everything. To be honest, at his age, I’m not sure I would have processed it as well as he did. I chalk a lot of that up to his faith, he has a full understanding of death.
I am very grateful for the friends and other parents who willingly shared information with me to set me on the right path. If the past three years haven’t taught me anything, it is to be more intentional, especially for the ones I love; I do what I can to protect them.
I still cringe every time my mother would talk to me about important documents and things I need to know if anything happens to her. And it’s always been a very casual conversation with her, she didn’t make it a thing, it was a matter of fact.

You guys are always front and center with your support of Dale. He is blessed to have you as you are blessed to have him.
Much Love. Carolyn
I commend and applaud you both for taking this huge (but tough) step! It must feel good to have this out of the way and in place. Whew!
Having that necessary conversation and taking that step is monumental. So proud of you.
