For my baby shower for Dale a very dear friend of my mother’s gifted me a Kermit the Frog bowl set. It has been Dale’s favorite bowl to eat out of since he was old enough to eat solid foods. In recent years, it has become his pistachio bowl. He loves pistachios. Well he loves nuts more than they love him so to keep him from over indulging he can gauge where to fill the bowl for a reasonable serving.

Well, I’m at work and I get a text message from my mother of a broken Kermit the Frog bowl 😲. My first thought was I mean, it is 29 years old, right? My second thought, OMG, that’s the pistachio bowl. Sure enough, after a couple of text exchanges between my mother and I, she text to say that Dale said “you had to see if we could buy another one.😂” His concern was “so what are we going to put my pistachios in.” I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. I love the confidence he has in me but the pressure is real.

Oddly enough, by the time I saw that message about him wanting me to try and find a new Kermit bowl I had already jumped on Etsy and found the bowl. We did not tell him I found it. His grandmother surprised him by leaving it on the island in the kitchen with his pistachios one night. He was really a happy camper as he and Kermit have been reunited.
